Conceived

The thought process was about to culminate. It was few hours past midnight of 8th July’2010 and one of a sleepless night, alone & away from home. Count down had begun and I knew when it will end. ‘END’ perhaps is not the right word. I would rather use ‘Beginning’. Beginning of another innings from where I had left or more appropriate new innings with variegated colors added to it.

Clicking & uploading pictures on Flickr as well Facebook was kind of common phenomenon now. I wanted more. More to ‘Flyaway’ with a set direction & mission in mind. The thought was not discussed with anyone nor revealed or perhaps the shutter speed was so fast that didn’t get time to focus on everything except the subject with a too shallow depth of field. The aperture of mind was open to its maximum and exposure rightly set. It was time to release shutter button.

Jaipur Photographers’ Club was fully ‘CONCEIVED’ now. The idea behind conceiving this club was to give photographers of Jaipur an organized platform and also to spread & gain knowledge from each other, which professionals seldom share. The idea was that each and everyone who wants to learn photography can join the club and learn the nuances of the trade whether as a hobby or as a profession.

I was all alone in the ocean and unaware of the fact that whether I would be able to sail through but confident at the same time that won’t let my ship sink. “Akela Chana Kya Bhaad Phorega”, “Kaun kheta hai ke aasma mein chhed nahi ho sakta, Ek patthar to tabiyat se uchhalo yaron” , hindi proverbs kept running in my mind as my fingers ran on the keyboard of my l-top.

The solo voyage had begun but did I want to sail alone??? No, that wasn’t the idea, the idea was to take along as many people as possible and enjoy the vistas of the un-fathomed sea. The next task was to search the likeminded people and that also from Jaipur. I had some acquaintances from Jaipur whom I could bank upon and who deserved to be given privilege to be first ones to sail along with me. Writing personal mails wasn’t my forte but the demand of the situation was vice versa. Individual mailers were sent to the ‘KNOWNS’ first and then to the ‘UNKNOWNS’.

I wasn’t sure how many would be there??? May be ‘few’ or ‘A Few’, or ‘Many’ or ‘Too many’. But the shutter button was released and resultant picture was eagerly awaited to be seen on the LCD screen as well as Computer monitor. The number of members in Chronological order is given below:

Date
Number of Members
10th July’2010
15
17th July’2010

It became quite difficult to count from there on. I had no words to thank all those who joined my club at the same time the success wasn't possible without one of them. The thought “Akela Chana Kya Bhaad Phorega” was a history now & “Kaun kheta hai ke aasma mein chhed nahi ho sakta, Ek patthar to tabiyat se uchhalo yaron” seemed quite justified.
